Un jour, un metro – Cadet

Me revoici pour un nouvel article découverte et ballade mais ce coup-ci à Paris! Aujourd’hui, je vous propose de me suivre dans le 10 ème en partant de métro Cadet (ligne 7).
Here I am again for a new article about discovery and walk but this time around in Paris! Today I invite you to follow me in the 10 th district starting from Cadet Station (7th line).

Mon objectif ce jour là était de faire un brunch au Tricycle store. Malheureusement, je suis arrivée trop tard… ils avaient déjà fermé. Ce sera pour une autre fois! J’ai déjà goûté un hot dog végétarien. Il était super bon. Donc, j’ai rebroussé chemin sur la rue du Paradis et j’ai finalement trouvé mon bonheur au Faubourg Poissionnnère au Café Pinson.

My goal that day was to have a brunch at Tricycle store. Unfortunately, I arrived too late … It was already closed. Maybe another time! I have tasted one of their vegetarian hot dogs. It was really tasty. So I turned back ‘rue du Paradis’ and I finally found my happiness on the Faubourg Poissionnnère at the Café Pinson.

J’ai aimé le concept, il est vrai, très à la mode mais qui m’a plu. Il propose une cuisine sans gluten, sans beurre et sans sucre blanc. J’ai commandé un chaï latte au lait de riz et un crumble pomme-rhubarbe. J’ai eu un peu peur en voyant que le latte était très liquide. Mais, il était excellent plein de bonnes saveurs. La douceur de la boisson m’a surpris. Le crumble était aussi très bon mais je regrette qu’il soit servir dans une barquette en plastique. La café Pinson crée l’expérience que Starbucks n’arrive pas vraiment à mettre en place. Il me rappelle les cafés de Londres où l’on a envie de squatter des heures en buvant un thé ou un café. On s’y sent à l’aise. Mais bon, j’ai d’autres choses à vous montrer donc on y va!

I liked the concept indeed very trendy but I liked it. They offer gluten-free food, no butter and no white sugar used. I ordered a chai latte with rice milk and an apple and rhubarb crumble. I was a bit scared at seeing the latte so fluid. But it was excellent full of good flavors. The sweetness of the drink surprised me. The crumble was also very good but I regret that it is served in a plastic tray. The ‘Café Pinson’ creates the experience that Starbucks failed to create. He reminds me of London ‘s cafes where you want to stay for hours while sipping tea or coffee. It feels comfortable. But hey, I have other things to show you so here we go!
On retourne sur la rue du Paradis pour continuer la balade. Objectif: le canal! Déformation liée à la vie à Londres sans doute… Là-bas tous les chemins mènent au canal! Avec un nom comme Paradis la plupart des commerces s’y donne à coeur joi.

Let’s get back to ‘Rue Paradis’ to continue the ride. Objective: the canal! Obsession related to my life in London probably. Over there, all roads lead to the canal! With a name like Paradis most trade gives them to lose heart.

Nous voilà enfin dans la rue qui a inspiré ce ‘un jour, un métro’: la rue Legouvé. Je l’ai découverte grâce à Laureen. Regardez moi ces couleurs chaudes qui tranchent avec le quartier!

Nous sommes maintenant arrivés au Canal Saint-Martin. J’adore ce coin de Paris que je trouve romantique voire bucolique. C’est un bonne alternative aux Quais de Seine. Habituellement, les passants se posent le long du canal avec de quoi picorer et boire.

I love this area of ​​Paris that I find romantic or bucolic. It is a good alternative to the Seine’s dock. Habituellement, passers hang along the canal with food to peck and drinks.
J’ai longé les canaux jusqu’à croiser le Faubourg duTtmemple. Puis, j’ai pris la direction de la place de la République.
I walked along the canals until you cross the Faubourg du Temple. Then I headed to the Republic Circus.

Habituellement, la place de la République est blindée mais là c’était force 10! Il y a toujours une manifestation sur cette place. J’aurais quand même dû me renseigner parceque là j’ai déboulé en pleine Techno parade! Il y avait tant de monde (agents de police compris) que je n’ai pas osé me rendre sur la place. Il s’agissait d’un rond point avec beaucoup de circulation. C’est devenu une place réservée aux piétons. Elle est bien plus agréable.

Usually the Republic Circus is crowed but this time around it was far from busy! There is always a demonstration started or funishing on that circus. I still should have investigated a little because it was the Techno parade! There were so many people (including police officers) that I did not dare to go to the square. This was a roundabout with much traffic. It became a place for pedestrians. It’s nicer most of the time.

Voilà, c’est la fin du petit tour dans le 10éme. C’est un quartier assez cool où il y a de bons spots pour se poser ou se restaurer. A bientôt pour un nouveau « 1jour1métro ». Je sais déjà où je vais vous emmèner ;-).

So that’s the end of the small turn in 10th district. It’s a pretty cool neighborhood where there are good spots to hang out or eat. Stay tuned for a new « 1day1station ». I already know where I’ll take you next time ;-).
