Qu’est ce qu’on est bien le samedi matin au Proud Archivist.

La plupart du temps, je me prends en photo le samedi matin pour éviter qu’il y ait trop de monde autour de moi mais aussi car je fais souvent d’une pierre deux coups et en profite pour decouvrir de nouvelles adresses gourmandes. Pour le Challenge French Curves de Janvier, je me suis rendue à Haggerston où j’avais repéré un coin assez tranquille. J’avais une folle envie de retourner au Proud Archivist. Je vous explique pourquoi tout de suite. 🙂

Most of the time, I take a picture of me on Saturday morning to avoid having too many people around me but also because I often do with one stone and used it to discover new gourmet addresses. Challenge for French Curves of January, I went to Haggerston where I spotted a rather quiet corner. I had a mad desire to return to the Archivist Proud. Let me explain why immediately. 🙂

La toute première fois que je me suis rendue au Proud Archivist c’était à l’occasion d’une rencontre entre nappy ou personnes ayant les cheveux aux naturels organisée par la blogueuse Fro Girl Ginny. J’ai passé un super moment à discuter avec d’autres filles sur leur routine capillaire et leur retour au naturel. Le concept était de se rencontrer autour d’un Brunch. Fro Girl Ginny est vraiment une fille adorable. Je suis repartie avec un gift bag énormissime avec des produits parfois au format normal. Nous avions eu droit à un buffet avec des plats au format échantillon :-D. Ils étaient surper bons. Depuis ce jour, je n’ai eu qu’une idée en tête trouver le temps et le courage d’y retourner.

The first time I went to Proud Archivist it was on the occasion of a meeting between nappy hair or those with natural organized by blogger Fro Girl Ginny. I had a great time chatting with other girls on their hair routine and return to nature. The concept was to meet around a Brunch. Fro Girl Ginny is really a lovely girl. I left with a gift bag with products énormissime times the normal size. We had a buffet with dishes format 😀 sample. They were surper good. Since that day, I had an idea in mind to find the time and courage to return.

Oui alors l’évènement a eu lieu en Août. Il faisait chaud et beau… Bref, ne remuons pas le couteau dans la plaie.

Je suis donc retournée au Proud Archivist pour tester leur cuisine et surtout parce que j’ai adoré l’ambiance de ce café. Il se trouve au : 2-10 Hertford Rd, London N1 5SH. L’entrée se trouve face au Regent’s Canal. Le café ressemble à un loft newyorkais. Il y a une superbe mezzanine idéale pour les groupes. Les tables sont bien espacées donc les clients ne mangent pas les uns sur les autres. C’est assez rare pour le souligner. The Proud Archivist c’est un « commerce concept » comme on sait si bien le faire à Londres. Il y a le bar, le restaurant, mais aussi une galerie d’art et un stand d’objets de déco vintage. C’est un endroit où il fait bon se restaurer et se poser pour lire un bouquin ou discuter entre amis. D’ailleurs, les propriétaires semblent nous y inviter avec une large offre de magasines mises à disposition devant le bar.Pour ma part, j’en ai profité pour continuer à suivre les aventures d’Ifemelu dans Americanah de Chimamanda Ngozie Adichie.

So I went back to the Archivist Proud to test their cooking and especially because I loved the atmosphere of the cafe. It lies at 2-10 Hertford Rd, London N1 5SH. The entrance is opposite the Regent’s Canal. The cafe looks like a New York loft. There is a beautiful loft ideal for groups. The tables are well spaced so customers do not eat each other. It’s rare enough to point out. The Proud Archivist is a « concept commerce » as we know so well in London. There is the bar, the restaurant, but also an art gallery and a vintage deco objects stand. It is a place in which to dine and ask to read a book or chat with friends. Moreover, the owners seem to invite us there with a wide range of magazines made available to the bar.Pour my part, I took the opportunity to continue to follow the adventures of Ifemelu in Americanah Ngozie Chimamanda Adichie.

La carte des Brunch n’est pas exaustive mais on y retrouve les incontournables avec un twist: pancakes, oeuf benedictes,etc. Ce jour- là, j’ai opté pour une combinaison en vogue en ce moment: oeuf pochés et avocat. Version Proud Archivist, on y rajoute un chutney de tomates et on pose le tout sur deux muffins. En boisson chaude, j’ai choisis un thé Chai. Je suis une addict du Chai et du Chai latte. Le plat était excellent même si les deux muffins m’ont paru un peu bouratifs. Je pense qu’un muffin coupé en deux aurait suffit. Les oeufs étaient coulants comme j’aime et le chutney de tomates avait un goût sucre surprenant mais gouteux. Les plats varient en 8 et 15 livres sterling a peu près.
