[1jour, 1métro] – Royal Oak station

Un jour, un métro est une nouvelle série d’articles que je démarre aujourd’hui. Je me lance officiellement à la découverte de Londres !

« One day, one station » is a new series of posts that I am starting now. I am officially going out there to discover the city !

Il suffit de marcher dix minutes en direction du parc Westbourne green pour pouvoir longer le canal « Grand Union » jusqu’à Paddington et admirer les bateaux péniches.

From the station, you are 10 minutes away from the Grand Union canal. Walk towards Westbourne green park. Then, when you are on the promenade, you can walk to Paddington and admire houseboats

Sur la route, il est possible de se restaurer ou de prendre un verre dans l’un des nombreux restaurants qui longent le canal.

On the road, one can eat or have a drink in one of the many waterside restaurants and bars

Ce chemin est relativement peu fréquenté bien que prisé par les joggeurs. Pour ceux qui aiment marcher tranquillement sans être trop buscoulé, c’est la promenade idéale.

This path is not crowded although there are manu runners. For those who like walking without being rushed or pushed, it is the perfect promenade.

On termine cette promenade en apothéose avec l’arrivée au Petit Venise, une large étendue d’eau où se rejoignent le canal « Grand Union » et celui du Regent. Elle est surplombée par un magnifique ilot.

We end this little walk with the arrival to Little Venice, a wide pool where Grand Union canal and Regent’s canal meets. It is overhung by a wonderful island.
